Plaster, relief, murals, mosaics, gilding and lacquer from one team, for Liverpool homes, designers, architects and commercial fit outs.
Decorative specialists in Liverpool means one team that can lay the plaster, fit the cornice, gild the moulding and paint the mural, rather than coordinating five trades. Zavoré installs Venetian plaster and a long list of other decorative crafts, and our nearest showroom and training centre is in Manchester, open by appointment. Our own applicators install the work in Liverpool. The first step is a survey, and for plaster finishes a sample board.
This page is for homeowners, designers, architects and contractors who want to see the whole range in one place. Each finish has its own page in the list further down.
Liverpool's building stock gives decorative work a lot to do. The Georgian Quarter has tall, formal rooms with high ceilings. The Victorian and Edwardian villas of Sefton Park, Aigburth and Allerton have generous halls and reception rooms. The waterfront has big commercial buildings, converted dock warehouses and new apartment blocks.
Those buildings ask for different crafts. In a period room the cornice, the ceiling rose and the panel mouldings are often the first thing to restore, fitted and matched to what is already there. A hall wants a polished or marmorino wall, a dining room may want gilding on a moulding or a lacquered wall, and a first floor landing might carry a hand painted mural.
In converted warehouses and new flats the brief is usually the opposite. Calm, flat walls in concrete effect, microcement floors and a single metallic feature, without a trace of ornament. We survey each space for what it is made of, how flat and sound the walls are, any damp or movement, and how the room is used. We say plainly when a finish is wrong for the room.
The plaster finishes are the core.
Beyond plaster come the crafts that finish a scheme.
The full list sits on our installation page, with every craft in one place.
For designers and architects, we supply samples and finish details for specifications, and plan the work around the other trades. Start on the specify page, and see the colours page for the range. Venetian plaster comes in 48 house colours or any NCS reference.
For restaurants, hotels, bars, offices and retail, commercial work is planned around your programme so the doors can stay open, with finishes chosen to stand up to heavy daily use. Fit outs ahead of opening are something we plan for from the start. Many projects combine several crafts, and we survey and price them together so there is one point of contact.
It starts with a survey, either at the space or from photos for small questions. We check the walls and say honestly what will work and what will not. Next we agree the finish, colour and design against real samples for plaster, and a scaled drawing for murals, relief and mosaics. You can order a sample board to start choosing.
Plaster is tinted to the approved sample before it leaves Birmingham. Larger jobs are planned in blocks of days. The team stays on site and lays each coat in order, rather than travelling back and forth. Dates are agreed once the sample and price are signed off.
If you only need materials for your own decorator, the shop sells plaster, primer and wax with tracked delivery across the UK, trade customers can ask about a trade account, and we run Venetian plaster courses in Manchester, Birmingham and London on the training page.
Every finish and craft we offer is on our decorative finishes page. We also have decorative finishes specialist pages for London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Kent, Surrey, Essex and Nottingham.
Each finish has its own page for Liverpool. See polished plaster in Liverpool for halls and stairwells and marmorino in Liverpool for whole rooms. Seamless floors are microcement in Liverpool, and wet rooms are tadelakt in Liverpool. For older walls read limewash in Liverpool and clay plaster in Liverpool. Modern and statement walls are concrete effect plaster in Liverpool and liquid metal in Liverpool. Our Venetian guide for the city is Venetian plastering in Liverpool.

Often a lime based one. Polished plaster or marmorino for halls and principal rooms, limewash on solid walls, with cornice and coving restored to match. Concrete effect tends to fight a room full of period detail.
