Zavoré provides Venetian plastering in Blackpool for hotels, bars, restaurants, holiday lets and family homes. We are based in Birmingham, we supply authentic Italian lime based Venetian plaster and metallic finishes, and our own applicators travel to apply them in the colour you approve. Blackpool is far enough from Birmingham that we plan the job as a block of days. The applicators stay for the work and apply each coat in order, which suits a business that wants to reopen on a firm date.
Blackpool grew into one of Britain’s best known seaside resorts in the Victorian era, and the buildings still reflect the visitor trade. The Promenade runs the length of the front, with the Tower, the Winter Gardens and the Grand Theatre in the centre, and a number of Art Deco buildings from the interwar years. Behind the front are long streets of red brick Victorian and Edwardian terraces, many built as guest houses and hotels with bay windows and narrow, tall rooms.
Today many of those terraces have become hotels, boutique stays, holiday lets or flats. Further out, North Shore, Bispham and Marton have larger houses, interwar semis and modern estates, while South Shore has more terraces facing the sea.
A seafront building is exposed to wind, salt air and damp. Rooms left unheated for part of the year can be cold, and walls in converted guest houses have usually been altered many times. We survey before we recommend anything, because the right finish depends on whether a wall is sound, dry and flat.
Venetian plaster is not what we recommend inside a shower, and a busy letting needs a finish whose care you understand, so ask us about the right one for your use.
Send photos, rough measurements and the postcode first. We can often answer a small question from the pictures. Before pricing we survey the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp and movement, how the room is used, plus access and protection. If a wall needs skimming, stripping or a damp problem solved, we tell you plainly before you commit.
After the sample and price are approved, we agree dates. We tint your plaster to the sample before it leaves Birmingham, and the team arrives with it ready. The coats are thin and need drying time, so cold rooms are slower, and a steady gentle warmth helps. Other trades should have finished before we start.
