Venetian Plaster in Kingston and South West London Homes

Venetian plaster for homes in Kingston and South West London, a living room with a leather chair and textured walls

Short answer. Venetian plaster suits Kingston and South West London homes in hallways, living rooms and main bedrooms, while concrete effect and microcement suit kitchen extensions and bathrooms, and Liquid Metal metallic finishes make a bold feature wall. Zavoré tints the material to your colour in Birmingham, then its applicators travel down and work in a planned block of days.

For every decorative finish we install in London, from Venetian plaster to limewash, gilding and murals, see our decorative finishes specialist in London page.

Zavoré lays this for you too. Our own team provides Venetian plaster installation across the UK, including Venetian plastering in Kingston upon Thames.

The homes of South West London

This part of London mixes Victorian and Edwardian terraces, interwar semi detached houses across the suburbs, riverside flats and newer family homes. Many have been extended at the back or into the loft, which often leaves a large new wall that needs a finish with some character. Many of the older houses still have their original solid walls in the front rooms.

Matching the finish to the house

  • Interwar semi. Venetian plaster in a living room knocked through from front to back, where one continuous finish ties the two halves together.
  • Kitchen extension. concrete effect plaster for a calm, industrial wall that sits well with steel framed doors and stone worktops.
  • Victorian or Edwardian terrace. Marmorino in the front reception room, where a lime finish suits the older walls.
  • Loft conversion. A matt plaster on sloping ceilings and a microcement shower room under the eaves.
  • Statement wall. Liquid Metal, our metallic range, behind a bed or a dining table.

Choosing your colour

Colour is usually the longest part of the decision. We trowel sample boards in the colours you shortlist, using the same material that will go on your walls. You can keep them for a few days and hold them next to your floor, worktops and furniture before you commit.

Our colour range is a sensible starting point. If you already have a paint colour you love, we can match towards it, and the plaster is then tinted so every bucket is consistent.

How the job is planned

Once the colour is settled, we confirm the wall areas from your drawings, your measurements or a visit. The material is tinted in Birmingham and goes out tracked. Our applicators then travel down and stay for a planned block of days.

Venetian plaster goes on in several thin coats. Each coat is left to dry before the next, and the final coat is burnished, meaning pressed hard with a steel trowel until smooth and polished. Because of this rhythm, the room needs to be clear of furniture and other trades for the whole block.

Before we arrive, walls should be sound and dry, and any dusty building work should be finished. New plaster in an extension needs to dry out fully first.

When you are ready, order a sample board, call 07592 929191 or email sales@zavore.co.uk. You can find more about our work in the capital on our London page.

Questions we get asked

Can Venetian plaster be repaired if it gets damaged?

Yes. Small chips and scuffs can usually be patched in the same tinted material and blended into the surrounding finish.

Can I buy the plaster and use my own decorator?

Yes. Trade customers can buy tinted material from us, and the Zavoré Academy runs Venetian plaster courses in Birmingham.

Do you need to visit before quoting?

Not always. Photos and measurements are often enough to plan, and a visit can be arranged if the job needs one.
