Zavoré provides Venetian plastering in Swansea for Victorian houses, seafront apartments, family homes and commercial spaces. We are based in Birmingham, and our own applicators travel to South West Wales to lay authentic Italian lime based Venetian plaster and other decorative finishes. Swansea sits on a long curve of bay with hills behind it, and its housing climbs those hills street by street.
Swansea became a major copper smelting town and port in the industrial era, and the Victorian and Edwardian housing built on the back of that trade still shapes the city. Uplands, Brynmill and Sketty, rising above the bay, have streets of tall terraces and semi detached villas, many with bay windows, high ceilings and period fireplaces. Sketty also has larger houses set in generous gardens.
The Mumbles, at the western end of the bay, is a seaside village with Victorian villas and terraces rising from the promenade, and the Gower peninsula beyond brings stone cottages and farmhouses. Both places are exposed to wind, rain and salt air.
The Maritime Quarter, built around the old dock and now a marina, and the waterfront at SA1 offer modern flats and offices. In the suburbs, interwar and postwar estates cover the hillsides, and newer developments have been built around the edges of the city.
Older houses by the sea can suffer from damp, and modern flats are usually dry and flat. We choose the finish accordingly.
You can start with photos, rough measurements and your postcode. Before pricing an installation we survey the walls, checking the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp, movement and how the room is used, and we plan access and protection. If a wall needs skimming, stripping or a damp fault repairing, we tell you straight.
Once the sample and the price are approved, dates are agreed. The plaster is tinted to the colour on your sample in Birmingham before it leaves. Swansea is further from our base, so we plan the job as a block of days, and the applicators stay with it and finish each coat in order.
Steep streets, terraces without driveways and sea front parking can make access awkward, so please tell us early. Our installation overview shows what we can lay.

Yes. Our own applicators travel from Birmingham and, because Swansea is further from our base, the job is planned in blocks of days so each coat goes on in order.
A breathable lime finish such as Marmorino. It suits solid walls and tall period rooms, and it copes with older, slightly uneven plaster.
Yes. We survey for damp and flatness first. Flat modern walls suit polished plaster, while older sea facing walls may need work before any decorative finish.
Yes. We tint it to your colour and send it tracked, with the base coats and wax your decorator needs.
