Venetian plastering in Northern Ireland

Lime based Venetian plaster, Marmorino and limewash across the six counties, tinted in Birmingham and laid by our own applicators in a block of days.

Zavoré supplies and installs Venetian plastering in Northern Ireland, working from Birmingham. Our own applicators travel to lay authentic Italian lime based plaster, Marmorino, limewash, polished plaster, tadelakt and microcement in homes, hotels, shops and offices across the six counties. A sample board is the best first step, and you can also email photos, rough measurements and your postcode to sales@zavore.co.uk.

Each Northern Ireland job is planned in a block of days. The team stays on the project and completes every coat in order, so you get one continuous visit and a clear date once the sample and price are signed off.

Northern Irish buildings, county by county

The housing here varies a lot between the city and the country. In Belfast the Victorian age left long red brick terraces and big villas, alongside waterfront apartments and converted warehouses. Derry has its walled centre and Victorian streets, and Armagh is known for Georgian townhouses.

Along the Antrim coast and the Causeway Coast, farmhouses and cottages are often built of local stone, and some are whitewashed. In County Down, seaside towns such as Bangor have Victorian and Edwardian villas, and the Mournes have stone cottages and farmhouses. Fermanagh and Tyrone are largely rural, with farmhouses, country houses and many bungalows.

Across all of it there is a large amount of newer housing in estates, built with block and plasterboard. Weather in Northern Ireland is often damp, so older solid walls need a finish that breathes, and any room can dry slowly in winter.

Choosing finishes for Northern Ireland homes

  • Limewash for stone cottages, farmhouses and older terraces, as a soft, matte finish that works with a breathing wall.
  • Marmorino for Georgian and Victorian rooms with generous height, such as drawing rooms and stair halls.
  • Polished plaster for new builds and apartments with flat walls, where a smooth sheen suits modern interiors.
  • Clay plaster for a warm, natural room in a restored rural building.
  • Microcement or tadelakt for bathrooms, because Venetian plaster does not belong inside a shower.

How we run a job in Northern Ireland

Begin with photographs and the postcode. We then survey before we price, covering the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp, movement, access and how the room is used. Small questions can often be answered from photos. We tell you plainly if a wall needs skimming, stripping or a damp fault corrected first.

Once the sample and price are approved, we plan a block of days that suits you. Your plaster is tinted to the sample before it leaves Birmingham, from our 48 house colours or any NCS reference. Tell us early about access, parking and stairs, and whether the heating can stay gently on. For specific towns, see Belfast, Derry and Armagh, or browse every area we cover.

Trade, designers and training

Questions about Venetian plastering in Northern Ireland

Do you install Venetian plaster across Northern Ireland?

Yes. Our own applicators travel from Birmingham, and each job is planned as a block of days. We agree dates once you have signed off the sample and price.

Which finish suits a stone farmhouse in Northern Ireland?

Limewash, clay plaster or Marmorino. These are breathable, which suits thick stone walls better than an acrylic coating that forms a film.

Can you work in both cities and the countryside?

Yes. Send us photos, the postcode and a note about access, power and heating, and we will say what the job needs before quoting.

Can I get plaster delivered for my own decorator in Northern Ireland?

Yes. We tint it to your approved colour and send it tracked, with the base coats and wax.
