Lime Venetian plaster, Marmorino, limewash and microcement for cottages, Victorian terraces and new builds across six counties, laid by our own applicators.
Zavoré carries out Venetian plastering in the East Midlands, across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland. We are based in Birmingham and our own applicators travel to lay Venetian plaster, Marmorino, limewash, microcement and tadelakt, tinted to your chosen colour before it leaves us. Start with a sample board, or email a few photos of the walls with your postcode.
The region borders the West Midlands, so much of it is a manageable trip from our base. For the further corners, such as the Lincolnshire coast, the work is planned in blocks of days so the team stays on site and lays every coat in turn.
Few regions have such a spread of buildings. In the Derbyshire Peak District, villages are built of dark gritstone in the north and pale limestone further south, with thick walls and small windows. Buxton adds Georgian spa architecture, and the Derwent Valley mills, a World Heritage Site, give the county a strong industrial past.
The big cities are mostly Victorian brick. Leicester grew on hosiery and footwear, and its terraces run out to the larger villas of Stoneygate. Derby has long streets of railway era terraces. In Nottingham, the old lace warehouses of the Lace Market now hold apartments and offices, with tall ceilings and big windows.
Further east the stone changes again. Lincoln has medieval and Georgian houses climbing the hill to the cathedral, and Stamford is known for its streets of stone Georgian town houses. Northamptonshire has brown ironstone villages and the shoemaking terraces of Northampton. Around almost every town there are newer estates, built with plasterboard walls and ceilings.
So a job here might mean a solid stone wall that must breathe, a Victorian brick wall with old lime plaster, or a flat new board wall. We choose the finish to match what is in front of us.
We begin with photos and rough measurements, then survey the walls. That covers the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp, movement, how the room is used, access and protection. Older stone and brick houses sometimes hide damp or loose plaster, and if a wall needs skimming, stripping or a damp repair first, we say so plainly.
Once the sample and the price are signed off, we agree dates. The plaster is tinted to that sample in Birmingham, so it arrives on site already in your colour, chosen from our 48 house colours or any NCS reference. On jobs further from Birmingham the days are booked together as one block.
It helps if other trades have finished and their work has dried, and if rooms can be kept gently warm, as cold, damp rooms slow drying. In city centres parking is limited, so tell us early about permits or loading. Our Venetian plaster installation page explains the work in more detail.
For designers and developers working on apartments, show homes or hospitality spaces across the region, our specification page sets out how we work with you. Decorators who want to lay the finish themselves can buy the materials with tracked delivery, open a trade account, or join a course in Birmingham.

A breathable lime finish such as Marmorino or limewash. Thick gritstone and limestone walls need to dry out, and an acrylic look alike forms a film that can hold moisture in.
Yes. We survey first, because old warehouse walls can be very uneven or patched, and some may need levelling before a polished finish.
