Cardiff is a city of many ages and many wall types, and that is where a decorative finish earns its keep.
Cardiff grew rapidly in the nineteenth century as a coal exporting port, and the city is still full of the housing built for that boom. Roath, Cathays, Canton and Pontcanna have long streets of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, many with bay windows, high ceilings and original plaster details. Cathays is also home to many student lets, which has its own demands on wear and repair.
Penylan and Llandaff bring larger Edwardian and interwar houses, and Llandaff, with its cathedral and green, is a conservation area. Rhiwbina is known as a garden village, with homes set among trees, and farther out are interwar and postwar suburbs.
The city centre has the castle, the Victorian arcades and the civic buildings of Cathays Park, as well as newer apartment blocks. Cardiff Bay, where the old docks were redeveloped, has contemporary flats and offices with flat walls, glass and concrete, which suit a clean, modern finish.
Period terrace walls can be uneven and hold moisture. Bay apartments are flat and dry. We choose the finish for the wall, not the postcode.
We begin with photos, rough measurements and a postcode. For a full job we survey the walls, checking the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp, movement and how the room is used. If skimming, stripping or a damp repair has to happen first, we say it plainly before pricing the decorative work.
You approve a sample and the price, and then we set dates. Your plaster is tinted in Birmingham to the colour on that sample. Cardiff is further from our base, so the job is planned in blocks of days, with the applicators staying to lay each coat in order.

Yes. Our own applicators travel from Birmingham to Cardiff. Because it is further from our base, the work is planned in blocks of days so each coat is laid in order.
Marmorino or limewash. Both are lime based and breathable, which suits solid brick walls and copes with the gentle unevenness of older plaster.
Yes. Flat modern walls suit polished plaster or concrete effect, as long as the plasterboard joints are reinforced and the right primer is used. Tell us early about lift access and building rules.
Yes. We tint it to your chosen colour and send it tracked, with the base coats and wax your decorator needs.
