Limewash, Venetian plaster, tadelakt and microcement for Cannock and Hednesford homes, tinted in Birmingham and laid by our own applicators.
Zavoré handles Venetian plastering in Cannock, Hednesford and the surrounding villages, supplying authentic Italian lime plaster and laying it with our own applicators, who come up from our Birmingham base. We also install microcement, tadelakt, limewash, clay plaster, Marmorino and other decorative finishes. A sample board in your chosen colour is the natural first step, or you can email us photos of the walls with rough sizes.
We survey in Cannock before giving a price, and the job is planned so each coat goes on in the right order with drying time in between.
Cannock is a coalfield town. Pits once ringed it, and the housing built for mining families still forms the heart of places like Chadsmoor, Bridgtown and Hednesford. Those streets of late Victorian and early twentieth century terraces have solid brick walls, plaster that has been repaired many times, and in some cases damp from old floors or blocked air bricks.
After the mines closed, the area kept growing. Large estates of postwar council housing and later private homes spread across Cannock, Heath Hayes, Norton Canes and Great Wyrley, and former colliery land has been redeveloped with new housing. Much of today's housing is from the second half of the twentieth century or newer.
To the north and east is Cannock Chase, a protected landscape of heathland and pine forest. Homes close to the Chase often have a more rural feel, with cottages and converted outbuildings among the newer houses.
For us that means two quite different starting points. Older solid walls in the mining terraces that benefit from breathable lime. And modern walls with plaster skim or plasterboard that need sound joints, the correct primer and good flatness before a polished finish.
It starts with your photos, rough measurements and postcode. We then come out to survey the walls, checking their makeup and flatness, any cracks, damp or movement, how the room is used, how we will get materials in and what needs protecting. If a wall has to be stripped, skimmed or dried out first, we tell you that before quoting.
After you approve the sample and the price, we agree your dates. The plaster is tinted to the sample in Birmingham before it leaves us, from 48 house colours or any NCS reference you give us.
Venetian plaster goes on in thin coats, and cold rooms slow down drying. In older terraces, keeping the heating on gently during the job makes a real difference. See our Venetian plaster installation page for more on what we install.
We are often asked about seamless bathrooms. Venetian plaster is not what we recommend inside a shower. Tadelakt and microcement are the finishes for wet areas, on a wall that has been properly prepared and waterproofed. Our tadelakt installation page explains more, and our article on tadelakt versus microcement compares the two.
Yes. Our own applicators travel from Birmingham across Cannock and the villages around it, and we survey every installation before quoting.
A breathable lime finish such as limewash or Marmorino suits solid brick walls. If there is damp, we will tell you plainly that it needs sorting first.
