Marmorino, lime based Venetian plaster and limewash, tinted to your colour in Birmingham and laid on Beverley walls by our own applicators.
Zavoré provides Venetian plastering in Beverley for Georgian townhouses, cottages, barn conversions and new homes in the market town and its villages. We are based in Birmingham, our own applicators travel to the East Riding to lay each finish, and the plaster is tinted to your approved sample before it leaves us. To start, order a sample board, or email photos of your walls and the postcode to sales@zavore.co.uk.
Beverley is a long way from our Birmingham base, so we plan the work in blocks of days. The team stays on site and lays each coat in order.
Beverley is a historic market town dominated by its Minster, one of the great Gothic churches of England. Around it the centre is a conservation area, with two market places, Saturday Market and Wednesday Market, and streets of brick buildings from the Georgian period onward. North Bar, the surviving medieval town gate, marks the edge of the old core.
The best known streets for period housing run off the market places and towards the open common of the Westwood. Georgian townhouses, with symmetrical fronts, sash windows and tall ground floor rooms, sit beside older cottages and later Victorian terraces. Outside the centre you find interwar and postwar housing, and larger modern estates on the edges of the town.
A lot of this is solid brick, built to be lived in for generations, and many walls have taken a century or two of repairs. Those walls move a little with the seasons, they were designed to breathe, and they respond badly to being sealed under modern paint or impermeable coatings.
If you are choosing between a true lime finish and a paint that imitates it, our guide to paint or real plaster explains the difference.
Every job starts with photos and a survey. We check what the wall is made of, its flatness, cracks, damp and movement, how the room is used, and how we get in and protect floors and woodwork. Listed or conservation area houses often have extra constraints, and we will say plainly if a wall needs stripping, skimming or a damp problem solving first.
When the sample and price are agreed, we set dates. The plaster is tinted to the approved sample in Birmingham, in one of our 48 house colours or any NCS reference. Coats go on thin with drying time between, and cold, damp rooms slow it down, so a house left unheated for the winter needs some warmth.
Streets in the centre are narrow and parking can be tight on market days, so tell us early about access. You can see everything we offer on the installation page, or browse every area we cover.
If you have a decorator you trust, we can send the tinted plaster, base coats and wax tracked to your Beverley address. For decorators who want to learn the craft themselves, our courses run in Birmingham.

Solid Georgian walls suit a breathable lime finish such as Marmorino. Acrylic imitations form a film that can hold moisture inside an old wall.
