Because Battersea is a long way from Birmingham, we book London work in blocks of days. Our applicators remain in Battersea for the whole run and lay each coat in its proper order instead of coming and going.
Few parts of London change character as quickly as Battersea does over a short walk. Along Prince of Wales Drive, red brick mansion blocks face Battersea Park, with generous rooms, high ceilings and plaster that has been patched by many owners over the decades. Their solid walls and period proportions suit a finish with depth rather than a flat coat of paint.

The Shaftesbury Park Estate, a conservation area of small terraced cottages, has a scale of its own, where a hallway or a single feature wall can carry a finish without overwhelming the room.
Then there is the riverside. The restored Battersea Power Station and the towers rising around Nine Elms have brought a great many new apartments, most of them built with plasterboard partitions, concrete frames and tight building rules about deliveries and working hours on site.

Start by sending photos, rough measurements and your postcode. Often we can answer the first questions from the pictures. Before we price the installation we survey properly, looking at the substrate, flatness, cracks, any damp or movement, how the room is used, and how we get in and protect your floors and joinery.
If a wall needs skimming, old paint stripping or a damp problem fixing before any decorative work, we say so clearly. Once the sample and price are approved, we agree dates, and your plaster is tinted to the approved sample before it leaves Birmingham.
Parking in Battersea is controlled and loading space near the mansion blocks is scarce, so tell us early about permits, porters or lift bookings. Our own applicators do, not subcontractors. They come down from Birmingham and remain on site through a planned stretch of days while each coat goes on in sequence.
Usually, yes. Older solid walls take a lime finish well, though we survey first, because a century of patching can leave areas that need making good before polishing.
Plasterboard walls can be plastered once the joints are reinforced and the correct primer is applied. We also check the building rules on contractor access before agreeing dates.
For a shower we recommend tadelakt or microcement on a waterproofed wall. Venetian plaster suits the drier walls of the room, away from direct water.
