Where Artistry Begins
Lime Venetian plaster, Marmorino and cornice work, tinted to your colour in Birmingham and laid by our own applicators in Altrincham.
Zavoré provides Venetian plastering in Altrincham for large Victorian villas, Edwardian family houses, interwar semis and newer apartments. We are based in Birmingham, our own applicators travel to install, and the lime based plaster is tinted to your approved sample before it leaves us. To start, order a sample board or send photos of the walls and your postcode to sales@zavore.co.uk.
We plan larger Altrincham jobs in blocks of days so the team can stay and work through the coats in order. Dates are agreed once the sample and price are signed off.
Altrincham grew as a market town in Cheshire and is now part of Greater Manchester. Its old centre around the Market Place still has Georgian and Victorian shopfronts, and the Victorian market house has been revived as a food hall. The railway arrived in the nineteenth century, and Manchester merchants and mill owners began to build homes here and in neighbouring Bowdon, away from the smoke of the city.
That is why the area is known for its villas. Bowdon, a conservation area, has big Victorian houses set in mature gardens, with tall rooms and bay windows, and often decorative plaster ceilings. Hale and Hale Barns are leafy too, with Edwardian and interwar houses, and the Timperley and Sale side of town has plenty of 1930s semis and detached homes. Newer apartment blocks stand close to the town centre and the transport interchange.
Such houses give us a clear brief. A Victorian villa has solid brick walls, high ceilings and cornice work that deserves care. An interwar semi often has simpler, flatter walls. New apartments have plasterboard that needs reinforced joints and the right primer. We choose the finish after we see the wall.
Tell us about the room and send photos, rough measurements and the postcode. We can often answer small questions from the pictures. Before we price an installation, we survey the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp and movement, and look at access and how the room is used. If a wall needs skimming or stripping first, we say so plainly.
After you approve the sample and price, we tint the plaster in Birmingham and agree dates. The coats are thin and dry in turn, so skimming, electrics and joinery should be finished, and furniture and floors are covered. A villa may have a long drive or steps, and parking near the town centre can be tight, so tell us about access. Details of each finish are on the installation page.
Interior designers and architects working on villa refurbishments can find more on our specifier page. If your decorator will apply the plaster, we sell it tinted with tracked delivery, and our courses and trade accounts are open to professionals.
