Where Artistry Begins
Marmorino, polished plaster and decorative finishes, tinted to your colour in Birmingham and laid in Alderley Edge by our own applicators.
For Venetian plastering in Alderley Edge, Zavoré brings authentic Italian lime based plaster and a team of our own applicators. We are based in Birmingham and travel to install in homes, apartments and commercial rooms, with the colour tinted to your approved sample before it leaves us. A sample board is the easiest first step, and photos sent to sales@zavore.co.uk will get a conversation started.
Jobs this far from Birmingham are planned in blocks of days, so the applicators stay on site and lay each coat in sequence. Dates are agreed once your sample and price are signed off.
Alderley Edge owes its character to the railway. As the line out of Manchester opened up the area in the nineteenth century, merchants and businessmen built large villas on generous plots below the wooded sandstone ridge that gives the village its name. Those Victorian and Edwardian houses are still the heart of the area, with tall rooms, bay windows, decorative plaster ceilings and gardens behind.
Later in the twentieth century, many of the larger plots were redeveloped or divided, so the village now also has interwar and postwar detached homes, and blocks of apartments tucked among the older houses and near the station and shops. Many properties have been extended or fully refurbished.
For a plasterer, that means three typical situations. The old villa has solid walls and period plasterwork that need to breathe and be treated with respect. The refurbished house has new boards and large open rooms. The apartment has flat walls and shared building rules. A good finish starts by recognising which one you have.
Bathrooms need a different answer. We would use tadelakt in a shower, not Venetian plaster.
Send photos, rough measurements and the postcode. Many questions can be answered from pictures. Before pricing we survey, looking at the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp, movement, access and how the room is used, including how we protect floors, staircases and furniture. If a villa wall needs repair or a damp problem needs solving first, we say so plainly.
After approval of the sample and price we set dates. The plaster is tinted at Birmingham to match your sample. It is then laid in several thin coats with drying time between them, so it helps if the house is free of other trades, dust is under control and the heating can stay on gently.
Tell us where a van can stand, whether there is a gate or a long drive, and how materials will reach the room. Our installation page explains the service in more detail.
If you are working with an interior designer or architect, we can make samples for you to approve and match a particular NCS reference. Our designers and architects page shows what we provide, and our colour page lays out the 48 house colours.
If your own decorator will apply the finish, we send tinted material tracked, and they can train with us on a course in Birmingham. See every area we cover as well.

Lime based Marmorino or limewash. Solid brick walls and old plaster need to breathe, which an acrylic coating that forms a film does not allow.
