Lime Venetian plaster, Marmorino and limewash for Stirling, Bridge of Allan and Dunblane, tinted in Birmingham and laid by our own applicators in planned blocks of days.
For Venetian plastering in Stirling, Zavoré supplies authentic Italian lime based Venetian plaster and installs it with our own applicators, who travel up from Birmingham. The plaster is tinted to the colour on your approved sample before it leaves our Birmingham base. A sample board is the simplest first step, or email photos, rough measurements and your postcode to sales@zavore.co.uk.
Stirling is well to the north of Birmingham, so we plan work here as a block of consecutive days. The applicators stay until the final coat is done, which keeps each layer in the right sequence.
Stirling is a city of landmarks. The castle stands on its crag over the town and the Wallace Monument rises on the hill across the River Forth. Between them, the Old Town climbs the castle hill in steep streets of stone houses, with the medieval Church of the Holy Rude and the seventeenth century Argyll’s Lodging among its best known buildings. Much of the Old Town is protected, so listed buildings and conservation controls are part of any project there.
Below the hill, the Victorian town spreads out in sandstone terraces, villas and tenement flats, including those near the railway station and around the Albert Halls. Bridge of Allan, a short way north and once a Victorian spa town, has larger villas with bay windows, gardens and substantial rooms. Dunblane, with its cathedral, has a similar mix of older stone houses and later villas, and the University of Stirling campus sits in the grounds of the old Airthrey estate.
Newer homes have been built on the edges of Stirling and at Raploch, much of it plasterboard and timber frame rather than solid stone.
The three kinds of wall call for different advice. Old stone and lime plaster want a breathable finish, and a sealed coating can trap moisture. New plasterboard needs reinforced joints and the right primer. We find out which before we recommend a finish.
Browse the colour range beside a board when choosing, since a hallway in an old stone house can feel darker than you expect.
Photos and a quick description start the conversation. A survey follows, covering the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp and movement, how the room is used, and access and protection. In the Old Town, steep, narrow streets can limit where a van can park, so tell us what is possible. If a wall needs skimming, stripping or a damp problem fixed first, we tell you before decoration begins.
Once you approve the sample and price, we agree dates. We tint the colour in Birmingham from 48 house colours or an NCS reference. Scottish winters make for cold rooms that dry slowly, so we talk about heating while the coats cure.
Architects and designers can use our specification page, and every finish we lay is on the installation page.

We can plaster historic homes, but you should check with the council what consent is needed. Lime based finishes suit older walls, and our survey will tell us what the walls need.
