Lime Venetian plaster, Marmorino and limewash, tinted to your colour in Birmingham and laid by our own applicators in planned blocks of days.
Zavoré supplies and installs authentic Italian lime based Venetian plaster, and this page is about Venetian plastering in Llandudno. We are based in Birmingham, our own applicators travel out to lay every coat, and the plaster is tinted to the colour on your approved sample before it leaves us. To begin, order a sample board or email photos of the walls, rough measurements and your postcode to sales@zavore.co.uk.
Llandudno is a good way from Birmingham, so we plan the work in blocks of days. The team stays on the job and lays each coat in order, rather than driving back and forth between coats.
Llandudno was laid out as a Victorian seaside resort on the narrow neck of land between the Great Orme and the Little Orme, with the long curve of the promenade facing the bay and a pier reaching out over the water. The streets behind the front are full of tall, solid walled buildings from the Victorian and Edwardian years. There are terraces with bay windows, larger villas with generous hallways, and the guesthouses and hotels that the town grew around.
Some of those big seafront buildings have been divided into apartments, and others are being refurbished as hotels. Craig y Don, on the eastern side of the town, has more of the same stock in quieter streets. Listed buildings and conservation areas are part of everyday life here, so the character of a room, its high ceiling, its cornice and its tall sash windows, is usually worth keeping.
For the finish, the sea matters as much as the age. Coastal weather puts moisture against solid walls, and a damp patch under a decorative coat will always come back. That is why our survey looks at damp and movement before anything is priced, and why we say plainly if a wall needs a problem fixed first.
Start with photos, a rough room list and your postcode. We then survey the walls, looking at the substrate, how flat the surface is, any cracks, damp or movement, how the room is used, and access and protection for floors and furniture. Small questions can often be answered from photos first.
When the sample and the price are signed off we agree dates. The colour is mixed in Birmingham, either from our 48 house colours or from any NCS reference, so the tubs arrive matching your board. Venetian plaster goes on in thin coats with drying time between them, and cold, damp rooms dry slowly, so keep the heating gently on through the job.
If you run a guesthouse or hotel, tell us which rooms must stay open and when you need them back. A block of days can be arranged around that. Architects and interior designers can find specification help on our designers page, and the full list of services is on our Venetian plaster installation page.
If you already work with a decorator, we can send the plaster, base coats and wax tinted to your colour, with tracked delivery to Llandudno. Decorators who want to learn the craft can book a Venetian plaster course in Birmingham, and repeat buyers can set up a trade account. You can see every area we cover on one page.

A breathable lime finish such as Marmorino or limewash usually suits thick solid walls best. We survey for damp first, because a damp wall will spoil any decorative coat.
