Lime Venetian plaster, Marmorino and limewash for Kenilworth homes and extensions, tinted in Birmingham and laid by our own applicators.
Zavoré offers Venetian plastering in Kenilworth for villas, cottages, extensions and new homes in and around the town. We supply authentic Italian lime based plaster and our own applicators travel from our Birmingham base to lay it. A sample board is the quickest way to begin, or you can email photos of the walls and your postcode to sales@zavore.co.uk.
Kenilworth rewards a considered finish. Many of its houses are family homes with good proportions and a lot of original character, and the walls usually deserve something better than another coat of emulsion.
Kenilworth is best known for its castle, a large ruin of red sandstone, and for the remains of the priory in Abbey Fields. The old town runs along the High Street, with buildings from several periods, and the streets close to the castle and the abbey hold some of the oldest cottages.
Much of the rest of the town was built in the Victorian and Edwardian years, as larger villas and semi detached houses spread out from the centre. These are solid brick houses with generous hallways, bay windows and original fireplaces, and many have been extended at the back with a kitchen and family room that join old walls to new.
Then come interwar and postwar suburbs, and newer estates on the edges of town. Beyond them lie farms, village houses and country properties in the Warwickshire countryside, where thick, uneven walls are the norm.
Extensions matter for plastering. A new extension has plasterboard or a skimmed blockwork wall, which needs different preparation from the old plaster in the next room. Meeting the two with the same finish takes care.
You send us photos, rough measurements and the postcode. Before we price an installation we survey the walls, noting the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp, movement, how the rooms are used, access and protection. If a wall needs skimming or stripping first, or a damp problem fixed, we say so plainly.
Once the sample and price are signed off we set dates. Because the walls are laid in thin coats with drying time between, we plan the work in blocks of days where that helps, so the applicators stay and lay each coat in order. The plaster is tinted to the approved sample before it leaves Birmingham, from 48 house colours or any NCS reference.
If a build is still under way, wait until the plastering, electrics and joinery are finished and dry. Our page on Venetian plaster installation has more, and you can browse our colours while you wait.
One question we hear often is how to link a Georgian or Victorian room to a modern extension without a visible join. The answer is usually one colour and one finish across both, with the preparation done properly beneath. Our guide to testing colour with sample boards helps you choose, and you can see every area we cover too.
Yes. We prepare each surface for what it is, then lay the same colour and finish across both, so the room reads as one.
Marmorino suits original rooms, as it is lime based and breathable. Venetian plaster suits new, flat walls such as an extension.
Yes. Our own applicators travel from Birmingham, and we agree dates once the sample and price are signed off.
