Limewash, Marmorino and clay plaster, tinted in Birmingham and laid in Hampstead homes by our own applicators.
Zavoré offers Venetian plastering in Hampstead for village cottages, big Victorian houses and modern apartments. We supply authentic Italian lime based Venetian plaster, and our own applicators come from our Birmingham base to lay it, together with Marmorino, limewash, tadelakt, clay plaster and other decorative finishes. Try colours with a sample board, or email photos and the postcode to sales@zavore.co.uk.
Hampstead has the feel of a village on a hill, and its houses reward a finish that is chosen with some care.
The oldest part is Hampstead village, climbing from the Underground station towards the Heath. Church Row is a well known street of early Georgian houses leading to the parish church, and lanes such as Flask Walk, Holly Hill and Well Walk hold small cottages, Georgian terraces and a few older buildings. Keats House stands near the Heath, and the district is full of listed buildings and conservation areas.
As the hill widens out, the architecture shifts. Fitzjohn’s Avenue and the roads around it have large Victorian red brick houses, many now split into flats. Some streets have Arts and Crafts and Edwardian houses, and Hampstead is also known for modernist buildings, such as the house at 2 Willow Road designed by Erno Goldfinger. There are newer apartment blocks in the district too.
That variety means a Hampstead cottage with thick, uneven walls needs a different approach from a large Victorian room with a high ceiling, or a modern flat with perfectly straight walls.
As with all our London work, a Hampstead job is planned in blocks of days. The applicators stay on site until every coat is laid, instead of making repeated trips from Birmingham.
We start with your photos, rough sizes and postcode, and survey the walls before giving a price. We look at the substrate, flatness, cracks, damp and movement, how each room is used, and what needs protecting. Old houses on a hillside can have damp in lower walls, and we say plainly when something has to be put right first. Dates are agreed once the sample and price are signed off, and your plaster is tinted to the approved sample before it leaves Birmingham. You can choose from 48 house colours or any NCS reference.
The streets of Hampstead village are steep and narrow, and parking is limited, so it helps to let us know about permits, steps and where materials can be unloaded. If the house is listed, the council will tell you what consent applies. See our Venetian plaster installation page for all the finishes we lay.
If your decorator or builder will do the work, we send tinted materials by tracked delivery. Designers can start with our specification page. Decorators can learn on our courses in Birmingham, and trade accounts are available.

Limewash or Marmorino. Both are lime based, so they sit well on old plaster, and their soft character is forgiving on low rooms and walls that are not perfectly flat.
Yes. Solid brick walls and tall rooms suit Marmorino, and we would survey the plaster first and check for damp before pricing.
Tell us about the street, permits and steps when you first get in touch, and we will plan deliveries and access with you before dates are agreed.
Yes. We tint it to your colour and send it by tracked delivery along with the other materials needed.
