Venetian plastering in Ascot

Venetian plaster, microcement and metallic finishes for Ascot houses, tinted in Birmingham to your approved sample and laid by our own applicators.

Zavoré offers Venetian plastering in Ascot and the surrounding villages of Sunninghill, Sunningdale and South Ascot. We supply and install authentic Italian lime based Venetian plaster alongside microcement, Marmorino, metallic finishes, bas relief and more, laid by our own applicators who travel from our Birmingham base. A sample board is the natural starting point, or you can send plans and photos to sales@zavore.co.uk.

On larger houses it is worth involving us while the build or refurbishment is still being planned, so the walls are prepared with the finish in mind.

Large houses among the pines around Ascot

Ascot is best known for its racecourse and the Royal Ascot meeting each June. Around it, the roads between Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale are lined with detached houses set back in wooded gardens, on land that was once heath and pine. Some are Victorian and Edwardian houses that have been extended several times. Many others are recent, built new or rebuilt on the plot of an older house.

That mix shapes the work. In an older house we may meet solid brick walls, lime plaster and a patchwork of later additions, where breathability and careful preparation matter. In a new house the walls are usually plasterboard or block with a fresh skim, flat and ready for polished finishes, but often in large, tall rooms, open staircases and double height spaces where a finish is seen from every angle.

Rooms of that scale need planning, and stairwells or high ceilings usually mean access towers or scaffolding, which we work out at the survey.

Finishes that suit Ascot homes

  • Venetian plaster for reception rooms, halls and staircases, where a polished lime surface gives depth across a large wall and flat new walls let it shine.
  • Microcement for kitchens, bathrooms, showers and floors, giving a seamless surface across big open plan spaces on a properly prepared base.
  • Metallic finishes and liquid metal for media walls, bars and cinema rooms.
  • Bas relief for a sculptural feature on a stair wall or in an entrance hall.
  • Marmorino for the original rooms of older houses, where breathable lime suits the solid walls.

For a pool room, spa or shower, we would recommend tadelakt or microcement on a waterproofed wall rather than Venetian plaster.

How a Venetian plastering job in Ascot runs

We survey every wall we are asked to finish, noting the backing, the flatness, any cracks or signs of movement, damp, how each room will be used, and how we will protect floors, joinery and glazing. On a new build we also check that the skim is fully dry. If preparation is needed first, you hear about it before we quote.

With the sample and price approved, we set the dates. Your plaster is tinted to that sample in Birmingham. Because Ascot is a longer journey from our base, a job here is planned as a block of days, so the applicators remain on site and lay each coat in its turn.

On a house with other trades on site, it helps if the plastering stage is followed by a clear window for us before flooring and final joinery go in. Our installations page shows the full range we lay.

Working with designers and developers

Many Ascot houses are delivered by interior designers, architects and developers. Our designers and architects page explains how we support specification, sampling and coordination with the rest of the build.

Questions about Venetian plastering in Ascot

Do you install Venetian plaster in Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale?

Yes. Our own applicators travel from Birmingham and work in a planned block of days. We agree dates when the sample and price are approved.

Can you plaster a double height hall or staircase?

Yes. We plan safe access with towers or scaffolding at the survey stage, and allow for it in the price and the schedule.

When should we bring you into a new build or renovation?

Ideally at the planning stage. That way the walls can be prepared and dried correctly, and our work can be scheduled before floors and final joinery are fitted.

What would you use in a pool room or wet room?

Tadelakt or microcement, on a properly prepared and waterproofed wall. Venetian plaster is not what we would put in a shower or wet area.
