A Venetian plaster course at the Zavoré Academy costs £750 for the 3 day Beginner Course, £1,200 for the 4 day Advanced Course and £1,500 for 3 days of 1 to 1 Training. Materials, tools, lunch and your finished panels are all included, so those prices are what you pay for the teaching itself.
Here is what each price covers, what else to budget for, and how to judge whether a course is good value.
The price depends on the course and is charged per person. There are no extra fees for materials on the day.
| Course | Days | Price | Half price to hold a bench | Group size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner Course | 3 | £750 | £375 | Up to six students |
| Advanced Course | 4 | £1,200 | £600 | Up to six students |
| 1 to 1 Training | 3 | £1,500 | £750 | One student |
The prices are the same whether you are a homeowner learning for yourself or a tradesperson learning for work. The Beginner Course needs no experience. The Advanced Course is for beginners who have done the first course or people from site. The 1 to 1 suits any level and is shaped entirely around what you want to learn.
You can hold a bench by paying half the price, then pay the rest on the day. To do that, call 07592 929191 or email sales@zavore.co.uk. Or you can book online and pay in full.
Check the training page for the dates that are open before you decide. If dates are not yet set, you can register your interest there.
Everything you need on the course is included, so you do not buy plaster or tools in advance. Every seat includes the following.
Advanced students also get help to find, price and win a first paid decorative job.
Beyond the course fee, budget for getting to Birmingham and for somewhere to stay. Those costs depend on where you are coming from, so we do not quote a figure.
To help, Zavoré holds a partner rate at a hotel near the Academy, and you can quote Zavoré when booking. Airport or station pickup can be arranged with your booking, for a price that depends on where you arrive. Our city guides, such as London and Manchester, cover planning a trip from those places.
Judge value by what you leave able to do, not by the headline price. Ask what is included, how many students share one tutor and who actually teaches.
These questions help when you compare any provider.
We do not compare other providers' prices, so check each one yourself. Our guide to choosing a Venetian plastering course goes through the same points.
For many people it is an investment in a skill they can charge for, but we cannot promise any income. What we can say is that you leave with a method, a portfolio of panels, trade pricing on materials and a helpline.
If you are thinking about working with the finish, read about pricing Venetian plaster jobs and starting a decorative plastering career. If you would simply rather pay for a finished wall, Zavoré also offers installation.
Think about it as paying once for tuition, materials and support together, rather than buying tools and plaster separately and teaching yourself by trial and error. Mistakes with real materials on a client wall are the most expensive way to learn. For help picking a course, see our complete guide to Venetian plastering training.
