Search for venetian plaster in the UK and you will find everything from genuine Italian lime to tinted filler in a venetian-shaped tub. If you are about to spend your money, or your client's, here is what actually separates a supplier worth using from a middleman with a website.
The word venetian on a label tells you nothing. What matters is what is in the bucket: slaked lime and marble dust for the classic finishes, or an acrylic base for the modern decorative ranges. Both have their place, and an honest supplier will tell you which is which without being asked. We stock both at Zavoré, and every product page says plainly what the material is and where it belongs.
Most complaints in this trade start with colour. A tub tinted by eye in a back room will not match the sample you approved, and it will certainly not match the second tub you order a month later. Every Zavoré tub is machine tinted to your exact colour, so tub one and tub ten agree with each other. We tint to our own colour range, match to NCS references, and if you bring us a colour from anywhere else we can match that too.
Ask where the material is made. Ask how it is tinted. Ask what happens if you run short mid-wall: a good supplier can get a matching tub moving the same day, which is why we dispatch orders placed by 12pm within 24 hours, tracked, anywhere in the UK. And ask whether anyone on the phone has actually held a trowel. Our specialists install these finishes for clients, so the advice you get is site advice, not script advice.
If you are at the beginning, do not buy a tub first. Order The Colour Booklet, put real finishes next to your light and your furniture, and choose slowly. Then browse the shop or call us on 07592 929191 and we will tell you exactly what your wall needs, and just as importantly, what it does not.
